Update on cricket iphone text message problem

how to get it working is to make the phone understand IA5.(not easy)

Rich if it was possible to write to the NV items, then we can actually have it receive texts in a different matter most phones have this ability and its a standard nv item the problem is changing that nv item I have fully tested this on many devices including the palm devices.

Yep akey and comm center patch work great. Just started editing carrier bundle ..plst whichever one my phone is using cant remember if it was zeppelin or 300 anyway I put the cricket mms servlet in with iFile and changed a few other things like carrier name. I texted my bud on Verizon and he got the text he text me back but i didnt receive it. I had tried before to text him and he wouldn't get it. Do u think i just got lucky. My classes at college are slowing down some so now I got time to put into this crap. Time to start logging changes etc. Doubt ill get where Rich is but no matter I love this sh*t!!!!

Wow, the text problem STILL isnt fixed? Glad I switched to verizon, I liked the $35 cricket price but couldn't deal with the text not working.

ok peeps,some good news on the sms prob with cricket.

lab testing will be conducted the first of next week to implement ascii7 text encoding (which will correct the problem) as alot of u know i have been working with crickets engineering dept to get this corrected and have since made good progress a new friend in that dept. together we identified the problem and have been working together for the solution.we were talking about this a couple days ago and,well, i will just copy the last email i recieved from him yesterday.

"Hi Rich

We should be lab testing the ascii7 encoding after thanksgiving. Roll out likely won't be until after new year. If lab testing proves easy and safe I will push to do this in December (needs VP approval because of a network freeze that is imposed each year at this time) "

so there is finally some light here.with a little luck sms will be 100% from other cariers to cricket in december,so 3 or 4 more weeks guy's.

there will be nothing anyone will need to do to implement this on there phones,it will just start working.

i will announce the exact day a few days before we make the change.
