Hi elisa191... and others

I am wondering if you might help me out a bit?

I am trying to gain a better understanding of AAA and HA keys.

Most importantly how and when they are utilized, or initialized.

For example, I understand that Boost does NOT assign or write keys to a phone when it is activated. So... in this example. if you are flashing say... a Verizon S3 to Boost, Boost would use the keys already in the phone from Verizon? That confuses me, how would Boost know to authorize the data packets? What is REALLY going on with this?

And what about all the people on eBay selling DEAD phones and making a big point of the ESN and MEID being good? So, that would mean that they are activating a phone using that good ESN and MEID but using the AAA and HA keys off of the phone being flashed? Again, that confuses me. How would Boost know to authorize the data packets?

This AAA and HA key issue has me confused in regard to what I can do and what I can not on which carrier and what phones.

Help from anyone on this issue would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

Thank all of you kindly for your valuable time,
John
