Kyocera Rio E3100 - unlock from Cricket

I bought this phone to use with Pageplus.

I checked the ESN, which is not active (or new).

I need to unlock from Cricket so I can sign up with Pageplus for $12/month.

I bought this phone to use with Pageplus..

I understand that I may be able to get my Cricket Kyocera Rio E3100
to do Pageplus MMS & WAP by just reprogramming it, without flashing.

But I don't know how to access those WAP settings, although they may
become visible and accessible after I unlock the phone from Cricket.

I am told that Pageplus could tell me how to change the WAP settings,
but they are unlikely to do that as long as they want to sell me their own
prebranded Pageplus Kyocera Rio E3100.

I know this is not a high end phone, but I'm not on a high end budget.
Regardless, I should be able to get my 10MB of mobile data for 12/month.
