    Question Concerning Cricket SID's

Hello there! If I posted in the wrong spot, please don't delete me! Move me where I'm supposed to go and I will learn.

I live in South Mississippi and although there is coverage mapped in my area, I do not believe it is a native cricket market. I've been unable to confirm this, but as none of the major cities listed in the SID sticky are even in my state, I'm assuming that I'm in an MVNO. My question is...

Can I use an SID from a neighboring city or is there an SID floating out there for me somewhere? I've used a slew of mixed search terms to try and target an SID for my specific area, but I've been unable to find anything definitive. I'm wondering if I can use the SID of Houston or Birmingham which is not very far from where I'm at. I also understand there is a default SID, but I'm not sure what that is either.

    Thanks for reading.

City name and zip code might help? Also a really good way to tell if you're in a cricket native area is if there actual cricket dealer stores around. If there are you most likely are good to go. If not your probably in a partner coverage area and a flashed phone may or may not work.

I tried searching using terms like that. I'm in Biloxi, 39531. There are stores that sell Cricket phones but no Cricket vendors which is another thing which led me to believe I'm not in a native market. I've been doing a lot of reading and I'm trying not to bother anyone with questions I can't find the answer to myself, but what about a partner coverage area would cause a flashed phone to not work? Are there any known work-arounds?

    Thanks again. Cheers.

I assume the stores are the big box like Wallmart, Best buy, etc. I'm also guessing that you are in a partner coverage area.

Yes. Big box stores. No actual Cricket retailers. So yeah, probably partner coverage.
