The judge overseeing some of the patent- and intellectual property-related lawsuits pending between Apple and Samsung has ordered the two companies to streamline the number of complaints between them. The companies have already reduced the complaints by a few, but Judge Lucy Koh of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California says the two firms have not gone far enough. "I think that's cruel and unusual punishment to a jury, so I'm not willing to do it," she said. "If you're going to trial in July, this is not going to be acceptable." The trial is scheduled to start July 30, but Apple and Samsung have until Monday to boil down the suits.
