need help adding esn metro pcs motorola droid x

Hi, i recently left verizon due to increasing costs on my droid x data plan and i switched to metro pcs. i wanted to keep my phone but it doesnt seem to be possible. i flashed it myself following a guide on the internet. i can dial *228 and *611 and get metropcs. so i assume i did it right. i called in to try and activate my droid x on their service but they told me to go to a store so i did. when i got there they told me it couldnt be done cuz it wasnt in their inventory. could anyone help me out with getting the esn in their inventory? ive read all around the internet and the majority say it can be done. could anyone guide me as to how i get this done? thank you!
