Unable to acess data service from motorola droidx.

Greetings everybody,
I have a motorola droidx cdma phone,i recently got it unlocked to use it with other carrier,good part is it got unlocked an working( can make & receive calls send sms as well) the bad part is i am unable to get data connectivity. I need to have data connectivity as without data an android phone is just like any other ordinary phone.........I am not tech savvy but need help...... Can any body help me.....Thanks.

nobody can help you without details,like,what provider,what plan,and what you have done thus far,also do you have workshop or qpst, hvsp, ect.if its cricket i believe there is a guide in the forum for that one already.
