I have an iPhone 4, iOS 5.0.1 working on PagePlus .

The phone is under warranty into March 2012. The "-" volume button stopped working.

If I restore through iTunes, I lose my activation so I cannot bring phone into Apple and show them the "-" is not working (for whatever reason, iOS 5.0.1 set up does not enable the volume up/down buttons).

I have restored, then re-jailbreak (sn0wbreeze), used i-FunBox to remove Cydia icon and app from springboard, but "Cydia App Install" remains on the root file system of the iPhone, a dead give-away at the Genius bar . I do not know if there are any other dead give-aways that Genius bar would look at that need to be addressed as well.

Anyone know how to maintain activation but restore to a point that Apple will not claim warranty voided because of jailbreak? I have googled myself silly without luck.
