U620L password reset

I purchased a U620L on eBay recently only to find the previous owner set an admin password, an also that apparently a hard factory reset does not wipe the password to default (admin) as I would expect.

Has anyone had any luck with this? The device works great otherwise...

Furthermore, I read the AT command reference guide, but didn't see anything in there specifically about modifying the admin password.

I did read that the unit can be "factory reset" via AT+CRST command, which I did with no observable result or effects.

Never mind, I figured it out myself.

Here's the instructions in case anyone else runs into the same issue (I suspect this not new for some of you folks out there....)

You'll need adb from Android SDK Platform Tools

1. Set device into "debug mode" at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
2. reboot device
3. start adb shell
4. the password and reminder Q/A are stored as plain text xml tags in the /sysconfig folder.
