here is my take on the update (thats all it is ,a security update).

but the question is whose security does this have in mind? yours or apples?

i say apple's,as this update has no features or real fixes it is not worth updating,and
remember what we start doing right after we update..... we start looking for patches and fixes for the bugs that and probs that we just dl'd with the update that screwed us up when we had a perfectly good working idevice before we got the bright idea of updating.

when the os number jumps by an incriment of .01 it is basicaly to just make you loose your jailbreak and/or unlock-which you will if you update to either 4.2.7 cdma or 4.3.2 gsm-

when the number jumps from say 3.1.3 to 4.0 that is a new firmware with features and corrections more worth the upgrade.

so as there is no jailbreak as of right now for 4.2.7 or 4.3.2 i would advise to stay away

with small upgrades like this,it is concievable that the latest jailbreak may still work,but that is not proven yet,nor has it been tested to see if a downgrade back to where you were will work ok with tiny umbrella or other.

so all this is,is just a "trap" from apple to make you loose your jailbreak and unlock again,unless of course you have bought the iphone forever permanent unlock for your gsm iphone.

so be smart and wait a bit for some info to be posted before jumping in and updating.

I have tried this and whenever i try to call someone or even 411, i only get MSF02: BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA every time the only thing that work for me are *22804, *228, and #*-------etc, etc...any suggestions? I really would love text and phone only, then i could attempt to get web..
