Samsung SCH-A890 hard reset

I'm looking for the code to do a hard reset (EPROM rebuild) on a Samsung SCH-890.

This phone was provisioned OTA for USCC which changed the MSL. I need to re-provision the phone for another carrier, but I can't without the MSL code.

I believe the only way around this is a hard reset.

1. Google yourself a copy of "cdma workshop 2.7"(easiest to find)
2. Make sure you have the drivers installed for you device.
3. Open "device manager"(right click my computer, select manage, click device manager)
4. Select "port" and find what port # your device is using
5. Open "cdma workshop" and select that "port" from drop down menu.
6. Click "connect" then "read" to make sure u have the right port you should see you info pop up on the left.
7. Now select the "security tab"
8. from the security tab go to the box the says "Password (16digit)" where all the zeros are located double click it and input "2004071020040331"
9. Make sure the selection indicator to the left of the newly input password is marked and then press "send"
10. Congratulations. If done accordingly your 6 digit "msl" code should pop up in the box labeled "spc"
