LG today said it is creating a single brand to help identify devices that include artificial intelligence. That brand is called ThinQ. According to LG, ThinQ will apply to "all of its 2018 home appliances, consumer electronics and services" that use AI. These products will have higher analytical powers and the ability to communicate with one another. ThinQ can "recognize, deduce and learn from voice, video and sensors," says LG. LG first detailed its AI efforts in January 2017, and later committed to putting WiFi in most major appliances. The company didn't specify how or if its mobile devices will adopt ThinQ or play a role within its AI-assisted ecosystem. The company is expected to provide more details during the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2018.
