what is the difference between this version and the lg download???

hey pac3 the difference is this is the professional version.

i forgot to mention when i originally unpacked this i had to go to properties of the file and click "unblock" before it would unpack correctly.

i think i left it blocked,but there is no password just unblock in the properties of the file itself.

cant open PC port serial port COM3
-Please check other program uses the serial port

read the stickies on the top of the forums pages. there are basics for flashing that apply to this phone and about a hundred others. i will point you in the right direction-
see the little white folder in the middle at the top of that software? click on it. that will open up the port setting. select the port that your phone is on.if you dont know,open device manager in control panel of computer and click the + by ports then locate it make note of the port.then select that port in the port setting of lg dwnldr that we were just at. then click the dll with the check mark on it and then the dll button next to it,select the correct dll for the model you are working with(8500 works with many models) then you are ready to start writing/reading and flashing that phone.but really this has been covered about fifty times if you just do a little looking you will find all you need,not that it is not ok to ask for help,we are all here to help you,but it will be much faster for you to find it instead of waiting for someone to write a tutorial for your phone your doing now. hope this helps,and good luck.
