Japanese Domestic Market, and yes i'm a JDMer. Bascially anyone that is enthusiastic about modifying japanese cars, such as performance, looks, etc etc just like how there is a market for hot rods and muscle cars in the US.

why not just say tuner? When talking to most of the people around here we refer to the japanese cars as "tuners"

Simply because there are many different genres or types of cars that can be 'tuned'. Each with their own styling and power modifications. Ie. EDM M3 v JDM R35 v Hot Rod '23 Model T & Muscle 67 Cudda.

i dont think it really matters what you call them, in different regions you there will be different "words" for them, just like you can say tomato in like 5 different ways and they're all right. What do you guys drive? for all the JDMer/tuners
