A California man spent a million bucks on in-app purchases in Game of War . The only problem, apart from his addiction to the game, was that he had stolen that money.- Kevin Lee Co, 45, pleaded guilty in Sacramento federal court last week to stealing $4.8 million from his employer, Holt California.- SEE ALSO: Man steals python, gives new meaning to the phrase 'trouser snake' Co also admitted to the court that he spent $1 million of that money for in-app purchases in Game of War app. Developed by Machine Zone, Game of War is a free game on Android and iOS but requires cash for unlocking weapons and other upgrades. Game of War describes itself as "the world’s largest multiplayer strategy game" with "millions… battling for domination." The game clocks $1.6 million in earnings daily.- Players on Game of War tend to spend a lot on in-app purchases. An average user, for instance, spent $550 on the game in 2015. Last year, one player regretted spending $9,000 on the game.- Co admitted that he conducted hundreds of unauthorised transactions and manipulated records at his company over the course of seven years. He also fancied "plastic surgery" with the stolen money and got himself a membership at the exclusive Whitney Oaks Gold Club in Rocklin, California.-
