Update 09/01/16 4:37pm: A report from South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency cites an unnamed company official in saying that the Note 7 will be recalled, both in Korea (where most of the explosions have been reported) and abroad. It continues to say that, “results of the investigation and relevant countermeasures will be made public this weekend or early next week at the latest.” The source claims only 0.1% of devices sold contain the potentially problematic battery. The report goes on to say that the source’s remarks only “suggested that Samsung may recall” the phone (emphasis ours). Our advice? Wait for official word from Samsung.
