If you’re like most podcast fans, you’ve been waiting for Google to launch Play Music Podcasts for months. For Android users, it gets a little frustrating to have to use third-party websites or listen to podcasts through iTunes on your computer. A leaked email from NPR was uncovered by Android Police, which reveals the network’s podcasts will finally be available through Google Play Music starting on April 18. Some users did get the feature in February, but it seems as though this was simply a test rather than the beginning of a full-launch. Google likely also used the time between its original announcement and now-to let content creators sign up to the service. Adding podcasts to Google Play Music will be extremely helpful for Android users who are podcast fans. Having all your audio-listening in one place means you don’t have to have multiple apps for different forms of media. Of course, if you’re using-Spotify to listen to music, you’ve been able to also listen to podcasts-for a while now. If, however, Google Play Music is your music listening choice, then you’ll soon be able to get rid of that unnecessary podcast app on your phone.
