Are things actually looking up for a major Android vendor? Samsung has seen its earnings deteriorate over the past couple of years but the company is expecting a significant boost in its Q1 2016 earnings thanks in part to sales of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. Via- Android Central , Samsung is projecting an operating profit of-$5.7 billion for Q1 2016, which represents a 10% increase over its operating profit in Q1 2015. The company is also projecting solid revenues of-$42.3 billion, an increase over the $40.7 billion in revenues it posted in the same quarter last year. We won't know for sure until Samsung releases its official earnings report but early indications are the Galaxy S7 is the big hit that the company had hoped the Galaxy S6 had been last year. Samsung recently reported that it had shipped 10 million Galaxy S7 units in March, which is a solid first month of sales. The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge have both won wide acclaim from critics and have set the bar very high for other smartphones that will be released this year. In addition to the usual praise for Samsung's beautiful displays and camera technology, the new phones have also been lauded for bringing back support for microSD cards and for offering improved battery life.
