Remember the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite? Originally announced in early 2014, the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite represented Samsung’s attempt-to capture-the budget section of the Android tablet market. It must have sold relatively well, because Samsung might give the tablet another go in 2016. The rumored Galaxy Tab 3 Lite was first spotted by India’s Zauba, a website that tracks products coming into and leaving India. It was identified as the SM-T116IR, which came into India for testing and evaluation.-For reference, the Wi-Fi Galaxy Tab 3 Lite was the SM-T1110, while the Wi-Fi and 3G version carried the model number SM-T111. That doesn’t mean the refreshed Galaxy Tab 3 Lite will sell for that much if, or when, it will be released, though it’s an indicator of its budget status. Further cementing that status are specifications-released through GFXBench, a benchmark test that reveals the internals of a-specific product. According to the benchmark, the-alleged Galaxy Tab 3 Lite refresh will pack the same 7-inch, 1,024 x 600 resolution display found on the original. Where things differ is with the internals, with the refresh powered by the quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor — the same processor-that powers the Moto G 2015. This should be a nice boost from the dual-core 1.2GHz Marvell processor found in the original Galaxy Tab 3 Lite. In addition, the refreshed Galaxy Tab 3 Lite could include 1.5GB of RAM, a nice bump from the 1GB of RAM found in the original, with the new model reportedly packing a 2-megapixel camera on the front and a 5MP camera on the back. Finally, it looks like Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will run the show on the refreshed Galaxy Tab 3 Lite, while the original only went as far as Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Unfortunately, this is all we have on the rumored Galaxy Tab 3 Lite refresh, as Samsung has yet to officially announce the tablet. We have reached out to Samsung and will update when we hear back.
