No, the ones at Walmart are only good for non verizon mvno
Newb question ...
The LG VX5600 is a Verizon Prepaid phone and sells cheap (Walmart, $15 shipped). It's on Page Plus Cellular's banned list. Is there any chance to get this activated on their network? I only need voice service. Thanks for any help or advice.

As of February 6, 2010, Verizon prepaid phones can't be used by "anyone" other than Verizon. Short answer is "no", you can't use it on Page Plus.
A Veteran is someone, who at one point in their life, wrote a blank check payable to the United States of America for an amount up to, and including, their life.
That is an honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer remember that fact.

Is there an embedded model number (or something like that) in the firmware that allows a MVNO to filter these phones out? Just curious what's going on. Thanks.
AFAIK, it is the MEID / ESN that is listed with Verizon that places the phone in a "no-fly zone" as far as MVNOs are concerned. Same thing for Blackberries.
