Qualcomm has signed new patent licensing agreements with Haier, Tianyu, and QiKu Sign, all of which will use Qualcomm's 3G and 4G wireless technology in future mobile devices. Qualcomm said it has agreed to royalties that are inline with the terms set by China's National Reform and Development Commission. Earlier this year, Qualcomm settled an investigation with China regarding its licensing policies for nearly $1 billion. Haier, Tianyu, and QiKu Sign will use Qualcomm's technology to develop, manufacture, and sell 3G and 4G handsets, including tri-mode (LTE-TDD, TD-SCDMA, and GSM) devices. Terms of the deals were not disclosed. Qualcomm signed a similar deal with Xiaomi earlier this month.
