The Nexus line is Google’s chance to showcase stock Android, and the Huawei-manufactured Nexus 6P comes freshly toasted from the fire with Android 6.0 Marshmallow onboard. It’s an expensive smartphone with solid specs and some nifty new features, but it definitely isn’t indestructible. If you want to keep that metal body pristine — and moreover, avoid cracking or scratching the 5.7-inch display — then you’ll get some protection. These are the best Nexus 6P cases we’ve seen so far. Related : Our 4-star, Nexus 6P review Speck CandyShell Grip Case ($40) Anyone with butterfingers should check out Speck’s protective CandyShell Grip. This case offers military-grade drop protection with shock absorbent rubber surrounded by a tough shell. To boost protection further, there’s a rubber lip that extends beyond the screen at the front and a series of rubber ribs that really aid grip, so you’re less likely to drop it in the first place. There are also tactile button covers and accurate cut-outs, which, sadly, add to the-case’s bulk. Available at: Speck Rearth Ringke Fusion Case ($11) Here’s a really minimalist option from Rearth that combines a TPU bumper with a hard plastic back panel. The whole thing is completely transparent, and it has been shaped to match the design of the Nexus 6P. It has button and port covers, and there are cut-outs for the fingerprint sensor, microphones, and camera. It’s not going to offer rugged drop protection, but it will guard against scuffs and bumps. You can also get a smoke black version, where the frame is darker, but the back panel remains transparent. Available at: Amazon Adopted Protective Case ($20) One of the official case maker partners for the Nexus 6P is Adopted, and its basic offering is this sleek protective case. It doesn’t add much bulk or weight, but it can dissipate the shock of an impact. The case features-a raised rim around the screen to prevent it from coming into contact with any surface. The openings are perfectly placed to allow for-full access to everything, but this is basically a simple TPU case, so it’s a little pricey at $20. It comes in either a carbon or clear frost variety. Available at: Google Cruzerlite Bugdroid Circuit Case ($10) It’s a pretty-safe bet that you’re an Android fan if you’re buying the Nexus 6P, so this Cruzerlite case — which features the Android mascot on a circuitry design-—-might just catch your eye. It’s a simple TPU case that’s flexible, making it easy to fit and durable. It’s slightly transparent and offers-accurate cut-outs for all of your phone’s functions, too, and even-comes in a choice of eight different colors. Available at: Cruzerlite Case-Mate Naked Tough Case ($35) If you want a case that keeps your phone safe, but doesn’t cramp the style of the Nexus 6P, then it’s worth checking out the Case-Mate Naked Tough. It’s a completely transparent case that combines a tough shell with a shock absorbing bumper. To give it a slightly classier feel, Case-Mate has added metallic button covers with a chrome finish. This case allows the design to shine through, but also delivers decent drop protection. Available at: Case-Mate
