Motorola is preparing something big for this year and no, it’s probably not going to be called the Motorola Droid 2 or the Motorola Droid Xtreme/Shadow. Those likely will be out on Verizon in July so keep your fingers crossed.

Are they still crossed?

Good, because what you are about to read is very, very exciting.

Yesterday, Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha revealed that Motorola will be releasing four Android phones with front facing cameras. Two of those are likely the Xtreme/Shadow and the Droid 2, but what are the other two? Well, if they aren’t called Shadow, Xtreme or Droid 2, then we have no idea.

However, we do know the specs of one and it looks like it is going to be a beast.

According to not one but two detailed reports, Motorola is planning on launching a phone this year that has a 2Ghrz processor, NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 graphics chip, HD video recording, HDMI playback, HD resolution screen, and a camera over 5 mega pixels.

Is that music I hear.

Why yes, yes it is. This would be absolutely huge for Android and Motorola and would certainly draw in a ton of the market no matter what with it lands on. It also would also compete very easily with Apple’s iPhone 4 as well as Sprint’s HTC EVO 4G.
