Sprint gs4 l720t (triband) NG5 unlock for t-mobile/att guide here!!!!

This is for domestic unlock of the sprint galaxy s4 L720T which is the triband variant on 4.4.2 NG5

I will assume you have some wireless programming basic knowledge so I wont spell out every small detail, if there is something something you dont "get" then ask or google (not in that order please) lol.

What you will need:

a rooted L720T on 4.4.2 NG5---duhhhh

Knox removed or disabled.

odin--most versions will work ok.

usb cable for your phone

Current version of Root Explorer

some basic programming knowledge

your spc

cdmaws or dfs or ww

a brain-- lol

ok so first set your phone to RUIM with the tool of your choice, then reboot.

now we need to downgrade the modem like we do for the regular L720, for this we will use the MK5 modem.bin file I have provided, or if you have the tarball for mk5 just open with 7zip and grab the modem.

load it into odin in the pda slot, I used 3.04 but I think any 3xx will work.
if odin doesnt see the bin file put this in the file name in windows explorer *.*
then it will see all files. dont check any boxes, let odin run just as it opens.

after you load the bin verify you are on MK5 now.
then load and run SSU.apk then reboot.

go to the dialer and dial *#0011# and press the menu button then select key input and put 3 in there, once that opens press menu and select back until you are at Main Menu from there if you are not there already.

Select CDMA, then 1.COMMON, press next page

twice until you reach page three of COMMON and

select 8.PREF MODE SET and select GSM_WCDMA_ONLY



Now Press menu and back until you are at the main

menu and select [1]UMTS then select [1]DEBUG

SCREEN, then select [6]PHONE CONTROL, select [2]

FAKE SECURITY CONTROL and make sure it is set to

ON.

Now Press menu and back and select [3] NAS CONTROL.

Only change what I have listed here.


[1] CIPHERING CONTROL = OFF
[2] INTEGRITY CONTROL =ON
[3] SIM CLASS CONTROL = UMTS
[4] REVISION CONTROL = DO NOT TOUCH
[5] RRC(HSPA) CONTROL = DO NOT TOUCH
[6] DUALMODE IMPROVEMENT CONTROL= DO NOT TOUCH
[7] NAS AVOID SECURITY CONTROL= OFF, 0
[8] BIP BLOCK = 1

Now Press menu and back twice, you should be on the

PHONE CONTROL menu. Select [7] NETWORK CONTROL,

select [1] GFC and make sure that it is set to

[1]GSM/(E)GPRS/WCDMA REL8


Press menu and back and select [2] BAND

SELECTION and select GSM Band Preference now select
/GSM ALL for GSM band preferences.

Now press back until you get to NETWORK CONTROL again.

Under the NETWORK CONTROL menu we just came

from select [4] AQUISITION ORDER and change it to

[3]UMTS_GSM

This next step I dont think is necessary but its in the guide for L720 so I am including it here also, it wont hurt.

Now reboot and load up Root explorer and go to /system/build.prop and long press it and select open in text editor and add this to the bottom (also set the app as read/write)

ril.sales_code=LOL
ro.csc.sales_code=LOL

now reboot with your sim card in and you should have service for talk and text.

To get data simply ad an apn for your carrier and set as active
