Microsoft confirmed via its YouTube channel today that it has acquired a calendar application called Sunrise. The app is available to Android, iOS, and Mac machines and is highly rated by users. Microsoft last year bought an email app called Acompli, which it turned around and released as Outlook for Android and iOS devices. Microsoft said, "Our goal is to create more meaningful, beautiful experiences in mobile email and calendaring across all platforms." Sunrise will "accelerate Microsoft’s path to that future of calendaring." The app will remain available to Android and iOS devices, despite the acquisition. Microsoft didn't reveal terms of the deal.
