Mobile app maker Mobilligy is on a commendable mission. As the company points out, more than 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. According to a study published by Bankrate earlier this month and covered by The Wall Street Journal, only 38% of people polled said that they had enough money in the bank to cover a surprise-$500 repair bill or a $1,000 emergency room visit. At the same time,-Mobilligy also notes that banks in the U.S. recently raised average overdraft fees to a record high of $30 per incident, which led-to the collection of overdraft fees totalling-$32 billion in 2014. It’s hard to imagine that one app can undo all of that damage, but Prism aims to try.
