    Default Using Remote Desktop with Windows

    Windows XP:

    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]


    Windows Vista (Also covers connecting securely):

    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]


    Windows 7:

    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    My only crime is bending phones to my will...

    Default Don't forget to change the default port number...

    You should NOT use the default RDP port as people scan networks looking for responses from computers...

    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Which basically just says:
    Code:
    1.) Start Registry Editor. ( Start, Run, RegEdit )
    2.) Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
         HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\TerminalServer\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\PortNumber
    3.) On the Edit menu, click Modify, and then click Decimal.
    4.) Type the new port number, and then click OK. 
    5.) Quit Registry Editor.
    If you are behind a router, you will need to set all of that up as well...
