You can use one of the options below to back-up / store your contacts prior to removal of the MyBackup feature:
a. Use Gmail Contacts to back-up all the existing contacts on your device
b. Export all the existing phone contacts to your SD Card
c. Log in to mycricket.com and print your contact list from the MyBackup web portal
2. How can I sync the contacts on my phone with Gmail contacts?
On devices with Android version 4.0 (ICS) and higher follow the steps below:
a. Choose Settings > Add account > Google to add your Google account
b. Select Existing and enter your username (your full Gmail address), and your password.
c. Touch OK to agree to the Terms of Service. The device will sign in to your account. This process may take a few minutes.
d. You may be prompted to join Google+, opt in to Google Play communications, or set up a credit card to purchase Google Play content. At this stage, you can skip configuring these additional settings by pressing “Not Now”.
e. After completing these steps, you should see “Account sign-in successful”. You can choose which services you want to sync to the device. Make sure that you have picked the option to “Sync Contacts”
On devices with Android version 2.3.x (Gingerbread) follow the steps below:
a. Open the “Accounts & sync settings” screen on your device. You can do this in Contacts by pressing Menu and pressing Accounts, or directly in the Settings application
b. The Accounts & sync settings screen displays your current sync settings and a list of your current accounts
c. Touch Add account.
d. Touch Google to add your Google account
e. Touch Sign in when prompted for your Google Account
f. Enter your username (your full Gmail address) and your password
g. Select Contacts to sync
Note: There may be additional configurations required for your particular device to initially enable contact back-up to the Gmail servers. For example, on Samsung GS3 and GS4 devices, these additional steps have to be followed:
a. Open Contacts
b. Click on Menu Key (down left corner key)
c. Select Merge Accounts
d. Select Merge with Google
3. How can I export the contacts on my phone to my SD card?Open the contacts application
a. Click on the Menu Key
b. Choose the option to “Import/Export”
c. Select “Export to SD Card”
4. How can I print my contact list on mycricket.com?
a. Log into your account using your phone number and your account password
b. On the right hand side of the My Account page, under the Additional Services tab, click on Data Backup
c. After navigating to the MyBackup page, on the right hand side, under Manage Contacts, click on Print Contacts
d. A new page with all the contacts will open and from there the page can be printed
5. Why is Cricket removing MyBackup from my account?
Cricket is in the process of discontinuing this service and plans to launch a more complete cloud backup solution for all your contents and settings on your device in 2014
6. If I have a feature-phone, how can I use Bluetooth to transfer my contact list to a different device?
a. Select Menu > contacts > options > send contacts> all contacts
b. Device will look for nearby Bluetooth devices
c. Once another Bluetooth device is found, the device will go through the pairing process (possibly requiring a pairing passcode)
d. Once pairing is complete, the transfer takes place after a final confirmation
