Thumbs up Gmail on cricket flashed Windows mobile devices

For those that might not know this.
This does not require a broadband hack or HTML data. [hide-thanks]This is done through the active sync exchange server.

    To set up:
Click on active sync on the PPC
    Click menu,
    choose Configure Server
It will now ask for some basics email address and password.
Let it try to auto detect, it should if not Gmails exchange server is m.google.com
This will allow you to have your Gmail pushed by googles exchange server no proxy ports to hasle with.

I have confirmed this to work both with regular plans and the HTML plan.

This may also work with other emails that support an exchange server.

Also note that depending on your exchange server you are setting up it may require a security certificate. Gmail does not require one.[/hide-thanks]

This is another way that will work on most any phone that can recieve text msg.

This will Only send you a text msg of the email (no attachments or photos)

You can also send texts msg.from the phone to email accounts by just addressing it to the email account. To send texts to a phone from an email account adress it to the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] of the phone.

    From you Gmail Inbox:

    Go to Settings

    Then Forwarding and POP/IMAP

Then click Forward a copy of incoming mail to:

In that box type [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

You can set it to delete the email after forwarding or tell it to save forwarded emails.
You can set the filter to only forward emails from pepole in your address book or only your wife. It allows you to decide.

You can also do this with any email account that allows forwarding.
(Yahoo charges about $20.00 a year for forwarding)

This will Only send you a text msg of the email (no attachments or photos)
