AT&T revealed that it will soon launch a mobile music service backed by Beats Audio. The service, which is called Beats Music and will cost $15 per month, targets families or other groups that use Mobile Share plans. Beats Music gives up to five people unlimited streaming and song downloads per month. The service runs on the platform built by MOG, which was bought by Beats Audio in 2012. AT&T is offering families a free 90-day trial, but there is no free, ad-supported version of Beats Music; it's all or nothing. Potential customers do not need to have Beats headphones in order to subscribe to Beats Music. AT&T said it partnered with Beats Audio because of the brand's visibility, including its association with former producer Jimmy Iovine and its well-known line of headphones. AT&T didn't reveal when Beats Music will become available, nor what sort of mobile apps will accompany the service.
