The NFC Forum and the Bluetooth Special Interest Group today announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding which they hope will lead to the two organizations working better together moving forward. The organizations said they will update and maintain the NFC/Bluetooth developers' guide they jointly published earlier, and will add Bluetooth Smart products to the guide. The agreement will also see the two groups explore how Bluetooth and NFC can be used together to improve the end-user experience on devices using both technologies. Many of today's mobile devices already include both technologies and use them for easy pairing/connecting. The NFC Forum says there are 400 million NFC-equipped devices already in use today.
