Jelly Bean has now firmly established itself as the dominant version of Android. The newest numbers posted on the Android Developers website show that Jelly Bean, which encompasses Android 4.1 and Android 4.2, is now found on 40.5% of all Android devices, up from the 38% of devices that featured Jelly Bean last month. Jelly Bean’s rise means that Android 2.3 Gingerbread is finally fading away and its market share declined slightly from 34% in June to 33% in July.
