ok, apples to apples. Now I only play with 4620 activated on native Verizon LTE account, with SIM card. The device is forced to EVDO mode (Rev A_EHRPD).
Experiment-1: SIM card is enabled (RUIM only mode). Device reports PRL 15226, which I assume is LTE+EVDO PRL.
Experiment-2: SIM card is disabled (NV only mode). Device reports PRL 53175 which is the most recent EVDO PRL for my location.
When I compared speeds, it seems that in Experiment-1 speed was slightly better. Although it might be just a "placebo" effect.
So, LTE+EVDO prl might somehow provide better connection than most tecent EVDO PRL. Possible?
No. The only difference would be QoS setting favoring postpaid customer over prepaid customer on that tower/site. Anything else is wishful thinking at very best.ok, apples to apples.
