    I never do *228 on any blackberries. I always manually program them. Does the service book disappears if we do *228? Because I havn't tried it.

    Thanks

    nah they'll be fine after an OTA. service books won't be affected unless there's a bes/bis server to tell it what to download.

    i'm super lazy so i always try to find the most time conserving ways to flash phones, with blackberries i go in this order;

    1. open desktop manager and enable legacy restore mode
    2. write service books in DM
    3. open workshop paid version (leave DM open)
    4. send spc (if it's sprint.... you know where to buy it ..)
    5. write prl (i use 1050 here in phoenix and it's fast but i've not tested it for roaming)
    6. (if it's alltel or sprint) write the nv items for the iota bypass
    7. write the nam tab check to make sure the mcc is 310 and that other one is 00 (make sure you have your home SID right also, it can be found in CID)
    8. write the evdo tab with all 4 usernames at "mdn@mycricket.com" passwords are all "cricket" ip mode is "simple ip" and change active profile to 0
    9. lastly go back to the main tab and click mode-->reset (or just x out of workshop)

    that's the easiest way i've found to do it with minimal resets

    you are correct, if you do it in the nam tab of workshop it just saves you an extra reset.
