Default Guide:how to patch 6.1 commcenter on iphone 5 for cdma

this guide will provide you with a fully patched commcenter for cdma ip5 on 6.1

i am not going to include the patch address anymore with my cc patch's for several reasons.i seem to just be undermining myself by doing that.

the link at the bottom is the already patched commceter file you will need to un-rar it to get the file.
also you will need to press the thanks buttons to see the link

you will need "putty" google for it,also you will need a iphone explorer there are many out there, i will be using i funbox to upload/overwrite the commcenter file to your phone.it has a cli like putty but i do not use it.

    so lets get started.

    navigate to /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/

you will find your commcenter there. delete and copy the new file there, make sure you only delete commcenter and not any other file, there are several that start with commcenter, but only one that is one word "commcenter" that is the one the cdma phone uses.

do not turn off your phone after you do this until everything is done or you will need to restore.

now open putty and put your wifi ip address in the "host name/ip address box it will start with (192.168) and click open.
now for name type in root and for pass type in alpine

then simply copy and paste this command into putty

    ldid -s /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/CommCenter

    and press enter,
then copy and paste this command in putty

    chmod 755 /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/CommCenter

    and press enter.

this will change permissions if needed and
now your commcenter is patched and you can edit or load a custom bundle.

    Hi Rich,

Tks for your nice job! I have tried on my IP5 (Singapore Version A1429, try to use “China Telecom” card) as per your above mentioned guidance, however unluckily it did not work for me.

After finish all steps and reboot my IP5, I checked “settings”, the “Carrier” appeared just for several seconds, and I have no chance to make selection, then disappearing. I also tried dial “*228”, but after disconnection “no service” appears again.

    Any suggestion to me?

    Hi Rich,

Very appreciate your help! I uploaded both CommCenter & CommCenterClassic to you for you evaluation. BTW, some more background info FYI, my IP5 (Singapore Version) as you are aware just allows to use GSM & WCDMA cards, before iOS 6.1, it’s possible to flash CDMA firmware to use CDMA cards (China TeleCom), however, after upgrade to iOS 6.1 no possible to use again. So I seek for a solution, finally by chance I find this great forum. I think my problems will be solved very soon. Many tks you guys good job!

Rich! Sorry to disturb you again!

I restored iOS 6.1 in my IP5 and jailbreaked again, and installed OpenSSH, SSH Connect, Mobile Substrate, etc. however, this time when I run the “ldid ……” command, system give me a reply of “-sh: ldid: command not found”. Did I miss something? My cydia version is 1.1.8.

I tried “apt-get install ldid”, but shows “-sh: apt-get: command not found”.

I figure it out, last time I installed one “CommCenter* patch for iOS5.1.1” then I can run “ldid” without problem, after install the said patch, of course there are some warnings says install incomplete etc. then I uninstall the above patch, after that I follow your guidance replace CommCenter, and run the two command lines without problem. However, after reboot my device, still cannot find carrier and no service.

I reviewed one post somewhere in the forum says that once the CommCenter have been replaced and rebooted without running the command lines, the firmware should be restored.

    Any further instructions for me?
