A court this week denied Apple's request for increased damages in its patent case against Samsung. Apple argued that Samsung's patent infringement was willful and that the original $1 billion damages awarded by the jury wasn't sufficient compensation for losses from Samsung's infringement. U.S. Federal Judge Lucy Koh disagreed, letting the $1 billion damages stand. However, she has yet to rule on Samsung's request that the damages be lowered.
