The judge overseeing a lawsuit between Apple and Amazon has ordered that the two companies meet to discuss a resolution before the matter goes to trial. Apple alleges that Amazon's use of the term "Amazon Appstore" leads to consumer confusion with its own App Store for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. The Amazon Appstore provides applications for Android devices. The judge has already dismissed one of Apple's complaints against Amazon, but five more remain. Both Apple and Amazon must send executives with the authority to resolve the issue to a meeting scheduled to take place March 21.If the matter goes unresolved, the full trial kicks off August 19.
