The U.S. International Trade Commission said today that it would review an initial ruling made in September by an administrative law judge regarding Samsung's complaint's against Apple. The initial ruling found that Apple did not violate several Samsung patents related to smartphone and tablet technology. The full commission will provide a final decision on the matter in January. If the commission reverses course and decides that Apple did violate Samsung's patents, then a ban on Apple's products could be enacted. Separately, Apple and Samsung still have a December 6 hearing on the calendar for their San Jose-based jury trial verdict, during which the judge will hear arguments concerning the damages, possible device bans, jury misconduct, and whether or not the verdict should stand.
