Apple today announced a refresh of its iTunes storefront, both on iOS devices and on its desktop machines. The new version has a refreshed user interface and, according to Apple, offers improved performance, the ability to preview tracks while browsing, improved search results, and social network sharing via Facebook and Twitter built in. The new iTunes store will be part of the iOS 6 upgrade, available to the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPHone 4S, iPad 2, and new iPad September 19. iTunes for the desktop includes iCloud, which allow iTunes artists to share photos. Apple is also refreshing the App Store and iBook Store on iOS devices so that it is similar in design and function to the new iTunes store. The iPhone 5 will ship with the new store apps preinstalled.
