How to manually change "My number"

I bought a iphone 4s and the phone is still on the guys account and still has service on it. He said he owes money to vzw and is just not gonna pay them. How do i stop the service? or change the "My number"?

you know you can't activate to vzw anymore. you probably bought this phone to flash it to another carrier. Just add that esn to the carrier and ota it.

Similar to how on other devices such as android phones you can change the MDN(phone number) and MSID
That is what im trying to do with the iPhone

Basically, I want to stop it from receiving service.

hard reset and stick in airplane mode, this might work but it sounds like a stolen phone to me, so if thats the case I hope it does not work for you and you get caught

No pal, i didnt steal anything. Now, if the guy i bought it from stole it, i have no idea, I can just go by his word. I called verizon and asked about the IMSI, she said its not even in their system, i dont know how thats possible since its receiving service.
