On your phone open "Cydia", tap on the "Manage" tab and then tap on "Sources".
On the top right corner, tap on "Edit" and then, on the left side, tap on "Add".

You will now be prompted to enter a "Cydia/APT URL"

Go ahead and type

v.backspace.jp/repo

Then press "Add Source".
Wait for Cydia to load the repo then in the "Search" tab, search for "CommCenter* patch for iOS 5" and install it.

If your device does not automatically reboot, reboot it.

when your device reboots you will have a properly patched commcenter.[/hide-thanks]

I've 4 questions, maybe someone have time to answer them. it will be very helpful for me:

1. as I understand, after patching commcenter we can edit carrier.pri & carrier.plist files - right?
2. is it necessary to ldid -S carrier.pri after editing?
3. after editing carrier.pri, is it necessary edit something in carrier.plist?
4. if I know all parameters of my carrier (including IMSI) can I made custom carrier bundle and add it to unknown.bundle?

that command is not necc. a reboot is all it should take for your phone to "notice"your changes.when you make changes increase your version by 1 before reboot,this tells the phone to look for changes.and the unknown bundle,really should be left alone.make your changes to existing carrier bundles instead.

popups "waiting for activation" and after few mins popup closes. stills No Service

maybe I should edit Pri version in carrier.pri too? or just revert back to 00.01.037

00.01.037 and signal is shown & I can call only to carriers emergency number (as it was on the begining)

I've iPhone 4 cdma (VZW) & trying to switch to another carrier which doesn't have OTA service.

thats what I did to get it work:

step 1: add custom PRL - ok
step 2: convert MEID to ESN- ok
step 3: carrier switched my pESN an gave me IMSI_s -ok
step 4: trying to manually add MSIN+MCC+MNC (IMSI) to my device - deep trouble :(

install cc patch,build youre own or edit bundle that the phone is using,increase your bundle version by 1,reboot or inject if you built your own then reboot

Rich I have followed the steps listed at the start of the thread. I had done this originally and redid it now, but it says cannot comply... the patch on cydia and what you had for the instructions is named "CommCenter* patch for iOS 5" when i read the supported devices listed it says iP4 cdma it does not say 4.2.8 it starts at 5.0 do i need to upgrade to 5.0?

The patch installed, rebooted phone then i tried to use the ipcc file to fix mms but it isnt sticking. Also when i use the SB settings to enable my 3G it doesnt stay activated, it turns back off. is there a reason for this?

i would stay there if i were you,besides apple is no longer signing 5.0.1 so you need blobs to get there,if you have them you can make a custom firm without bb so you can move back and forth as you wish.you should not need sb to enable 3g,so if you are not getting it its probly because it was not flashed correctly.are you using no proxy or are squeezing data thru crickets proxy?

not correct.

you must be able to write the nv of the phone to get data. but yes the 4s is fully flashed already.soon will be a new tool released to full flash all cdma iphones to any carrier.

For basic calling and texting - All I need to do is get back into the same ##626 menu on an iPhone 4S, is there any way that I can get that?

I know that for data I need to write it, generally I used CDMATOOLS, but that's the $100 fee - and it doesn't support the iPhone 4s..

i just checked,and it loads up fine for me,check to make sure your not mis-spelling it dude.

a good idea would be to copy your commcenter after you patch it ,save it to your pwnage folder or wherever,and you can always get it patched by replacing it and then calling it up.just in case the repo is down.

I tried and have tried all day, I have the correct spelling. I am sure. Every time I get a Time out error from cydia.

To make this more convincing. Yesterday, I restored three times, just screwing around with the phone, and every time was fine. Until the 4th time when I had the perfect configuration. The repo didn't work anymore. I was trying to fix the contact bug that was happening to my moms unlocked by Gevey ultra s Verizon 4s. I just want to test and see if restoring before I unlock and patch the commcenter fixes the contact association issue. It seems to have done it... The only thing I need to do is unlock it lol.

sounds like a connection issue or maybe you need to update your cydia,it will update its self but sometimes it "gets stuck" i think jay was working on a fix,but not sure if anything came of it.try to pwr ip on and off opening cydia each time and let it fully load inbetween.also chk your changes tab and update there as well.not sure if it will help or not but,maybe try a diff way to connect as well (diff wi-fi) or something. but it loads fine for me on 3 diff ip's

Well, the repo was down. I can see because it is working again. There is a bright red message on the commcenter patch saying the repo was down due to hard drive issues.

It was down for about a day and a half.

open ssh is on the main page of cydia and work on all platforms including 6.0.1 are you having trouble loading cydia?

You had sent me the patch for 6.1.3, I didn't use that since I got talk and text working somehow. Got cocky, went ahead and upgraded to 7.0.4. Everything worked fine for a while, realized that EVDO is not working, spoke to customer care and they informed me that OTA has to be done in order to transfer the EVDO to the new handset MEID. but *228 is not working on my reliance phone and now I need to install cricket carrier bundle and patched comcenter in order to get OTA working :-( Worst of all - the stubborn phone wont downgrade to 6.1.3 :-(
