Problems Flashing Verizon Iphone4

I am having trouble flashing my VZ iphone 4 to Cricket, I have been following the various instructions on this site and others but I have been unsuccessful in my attempts to flash my phone. I am running the redsn0w JB for my iphone4 version 5.0.1 (9A405). I have cydia installed and openssh.
I have attempted to use the following prl unsuccessfully
CKT_EVO4G_SMART_32300.prl
01040.prl
05244.prl
38515.prl

I have copied the reanamed the files as carrier.prl as there is no 310vzw.pwl in the
/system/library/Carrier Bundles/iphone/Zeppelin_US.bundle

I have even attempted to create a 310vzw.prl along with carrier and place it in the directory.

I set the carrier.plist to true reboot
and there is no carrier in the top left hand corner
I set the carrier.plist back to true reboot
and the carrier is set back to VZ

when I attempt to call
*#5005*4357# the call is routed to VZ support
if I dial
*228
It welcomes me to verizon

I am not sure what I am doing wrong....is there some step that I am missing. I know that Rich Hathaway is working on a flash, I may have to wait for that flash...but I am not a very patient person...
any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there and welcome! To start you most likely are not doing anything wrong the problem is 5.0.1. I have 4 iphone 4 verizon 3 on 5.0.1 and one on 4.2.8 the one on 4.2.8 worked perfectly but it will not work on 5.0.1. Bummer I know. I had tried many ways cannot do it. Rich the moderator here says it will most likely work making a custom ipsw but that is over my head for now at this point but he says he will make us one but to give him time as he is busy now with his work so if you check in from time to time maybe it will be here under cdma iphone? If you find something out let us know I am waiting to get mine on cricket also no phone until then.

*22804 is nothing really once you flash the phone and the esn is in crickets system then you dial *22804 and it will update the prls in the phone I flashed an iphone 4 on 4.2.8 and did not need to do that when I brought it to cricket to get put into the system they did that themselves. For metro I don't know if it is the same maybe? I think it will update any carrier you have an account with? I think so? If you can flash 5.0.1 please let me know. I am in Reno nevada

Nothing, When I dial *22804 it attempts to call out and then ends the call immediately there is no response.

exactly what all my phones do that are on 5.0.1

same thing here on 5.0.1 .. the prl seems not stick to the phone.. it goes back to verizon... i even tried to use 5.0 pList file (since they're different) and nothing.. renamed prl's name... nothing... maybe the custom ipsw with the prl already there may work.

dont know why so many have problem with ios 5. First don't just try *22804 u need to change the last number(4). Try all #'s 1-9 in place of 4. like *22801
*22802...etc. until one works.I'm in colorado and *22807 is what worked for me. Of course make sure the iphone's ESN is active on your account first. Remember search tool and basic reading are your best friends. Search through enough stuff u should find the answers and not just on this site either.

second that it does not work. Your saying you have to have the phone active to flash it?? hmm why. You should not have to do a *22804 to flash it either all that does is update to current prls is all.

Has anyone resolved the issue of the carrier.orl not holding after it is placed on the IPhone 4... I have still been unable to get the .prl to be recognized....also have step by step instructions been posted on how to flash to cricket. I have been looking on the board but I have not seen anything, but maybe I missed it...Please help would really like to get phone working on cricket, it would be great savings....
