View Full Version : Guide: How to flash BlackBerry 8530 To MetroPCS

First Let me start by saying this guide might not be perfect but will be good.
I don't flash 100 BlackBerry's a month or even 100 at all but this is to help those who are lost or having trouble getting there BlackBerry Flashed to metro.

Things you will need:
CDMA Workshop:
I think its offered on this site or just google it.

BlackBerry Desktop Manger:
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
I ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) would sugest using 5.0.1 because sometimes I myself wont see a phone on 6.0

Metro Pcs PRL: 3022

MSL:
[Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links])

I will be going by section starting with:
Flashing the phone
adding web

How to Flash the BB 8530 to metro PCS:
1. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager
2. Plug the phone into the PC
3. Make sure all drivers are installed of there is no SD card it will fail that install its ok!
4.Open CW (CDMA Workshop)
5. Click on Port
6. Select the 2nd port that says RIM serial Port
7. Click Connect
8. Click Read (You should see everything fill in on the left side)
9. Go to security tab if its a vzw BlackBerry the SPC will be 000000 if its a sprint one make sure you have a MSL you can get one on this site
10. Type in the SPC and hit send
11. Go to the other TAB
12. Click on write on the PRL section
13. Select the PRL you downloaded and write it. It should say successful
14. Go to the NAM tab
15. Type on the MDN MIN and SID which for metro is 6503
16. Click Write at the bottom it should write all those lines.
17. Click on EVdo tab

19. Put the MSL in for all the Passwords
20. Set Profiles to 1 and Active to 1 and click write.
21. Go back to the main tab and click mode then reset.

THE FLASHING PART IS DONE NOW COMES THE FUN PART!!
Adding Web:
Make sure the phone is back on and connected to blackberry desktop manager.
1. On the phone go to Options>Advance Options> Service Books
2. Put the phone in Legacy Mode
How to: Press and hold Alt on the phone Press SBEB
3. Go to Desktop Manger and Click Advance
4. Open the service books file
5. Then select Service Book at the left column
6. Hit restore and you are good to go!

I believe the link for the service books comes with metroweb setup also.
Remember this guide is only to help so please don't flame me if im off at all.

cannot find the NAM tab in cdma workshop 3.8.5 could i get a little assistance please
