Research In Motion today confirmed that it has agreed to purchase NewBay for an undisclosed sum. Ireland-based NewBay is a white-label provider of mobile content services, such as social networking, photo, and video tools, to wireless network operators. RIM indicated that the purchase will be immaterial to its financial standing, though the deal has yet to close.
