First download these fastboot drivers and install them on your PC then reboot.
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Then download revolutionary [Only registered and activated users can see links]
at which point you will get a pop up window requesting which OS and phone you are using.Leave this window open because you will soon need to enter your serial # there.
Extract revolutionary to a folder like c:\revolutionary
Hook up your HTC phone with USB debugging enabled.
Bring up a command prompt in windows...Click on Start Then Run and type CMD
then enter.
then cd c:\revolutionary if thats the directory you extracted it to
type revolutionary then hit enter
It should see your device and give you the serial number and ask you for the key
Go back to the popup window and enter your serial # and it will then give you the key
to enter...
Enter that key in revolutionary in your cmd prompt and the program will run.
It should take about 1 minute to run and then you will see your device reboot into Hboot menu and will still have S-On.
Then it will reboot again into Hboot and you will have S-off ...It will also create a recovery partition on your phone.
Once all of it is done you will then have S-off but not technically root yet..
If you want ROOT also:
goto this link [Only registered and activated users can see links]
and download su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip
Put that file on the root of your microsd card by whatever means you use.
Power off phone with microsd card contaning the file in the phone.
Boot into Hboot by holding VOL+DWN and then hold power button for 1 sec..
the phone should boot into Hboot ...scroll dwn to restore by using VOL DWN then hit power to select recovery.
Once in recovery choose Install zip from sd card scroll the the su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip and select it with pwr button then scroll to yes install it and hit power to select it...after its done flashing tell it to reboot the phone and now your phone is rooted.
I hope this clears up any confusion,,I thought it was pretty self explanitory but here is the help you need :)
