The FCC has announced that Auction 108 for the 2.5 GHz band will begin on July 29th. This particular band is the same as T-Mobile's existing mid-band spectrum, band 41. This auction is for the licenses that remain unassigned, which are mostly in rural areas. This could potentially allow T-Mobile to improve the coverage of its mid-band 5G network. Over 8,000 licenses will be available, each covering one county.
