FIRST OF ALL I KNOW THERE IS A PAID SOLUTION OUT THERE.
I DO NOT HAVE IT,AND I DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS.
ASSUMING YOU HAVE 1X DATA ALREADY-
this will get 3g on the ally but the phone,or at least my phone i am working on stays on 3g most of the time, but i notice occasionally it will slip to 1x but then a minute or 2 later is back on 3g again
THERE WAS A DISCUSSION LAST SUNDAY ABOUT USING WHITE RABBIT TO LOAD NV FILES FOR LG ALLY.
SOME SAID IT WOULD BRICK SOME SAID IT WOULDNT.
WELL IT TURNS OUT IT WILL NOT BRICK. BUT LIKE ONE MEMBER SAID (WHICH IS RIGHT)
IS THAT ON SOME PHONES YOU MAY CHANGE VALUES AND STOP SOME FUNCTIONS THAT ARE NEEDED ON SOME PHONES.
that is correctable in most cases by making a backup of those nv files before you screw them up.
having said that i am posting this for free,i am not posting how to read and write these files or what to write,it is simple for anyone who has spent much time with phones.i have the nv's i wrote but they wont do any other phone number any good,so edit them yourselves with your own mdn.
and am not offering hours of support for this.this is just meant for you peeps to have and do/figure it out for yourselves
SO I PICKED UP 5 ALLY'S LAST WEEK AND AFTER THAT DISCUSSION I TOOK A LOOK AT IT,JUST TO SEE AND COMPARE WHITE RABBIT (WHICH IS MEANT FOR MOTO'S).
HERE ARE MY FINDINGS
[hide-thanks]
white rabbit writes at these locations
00318
00465
00579
00910
01194
02825
02953
08040
08041
08042
08043
08091
I wrote ally at these locations, and as you will notice only a few are the same as motorola.
00465 (0x01D1)
00930 (0x03A2)
01194 (0x04AA)
02808 (0x0AF8)
02825 (0x0B09)
02954 (0x0B8A)
i read, edited, and wrote these nv items and the phone gets 3g now but not all the time,it will go back and forth from 1x to 3g but most of the time is on 3g
3G worked for me wwith writing only the first 2 but i wrote the rest wanting to keep it on 3g full time
but it is the same.so i left the full list of all 6 items
also something else to play around with is the phone has a menu like the samsungs do
it is located at ##3282 send
these fields dont all stick and i have not had time to play with phone much and prolly wont fool with it to much more because we hardly ever see them around here and my time is better spent working on other phones.
also i am not responsible for anything you do or dont do to your phone.
have fun.
