On Wednesday, Microsoft announced two new features headed for Windows users: audio capability for the Your Phone app, and a nested virtualization capability that to date had excluded PCs using AMD’s Ryzen processors.Â-The two features rolled out simultaneously as part of theÂ-new Windows 10 Insider Build 19645 (https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2020/06/10/announcing-windows-10-insider-preview-build-19645/).
The audio controls app update is part of the ongoing drumbeat of new features to the Your Phone app. In the Windows 10 May 2020 Update now rolling out (https://www.pcworld.com/article/3545909/microsoft-releases-the-windows-10-may-2020-update.html) to the general public, we noted in our review (https://www.pcworld.com/article/3526472/windows-10-20h1-review-microsoft-boosts-linux-and-your-phone-but-cortana-slips-hard.html) that Your Phone now felt finished. Your Phone connects to an Android phone and allows you to interact with it from your Windows desktop, sending messages, placing calls, and more. Some specialized functions are limited to Samsung phones, with which Microsoft seems to have forged a privileged relationship.
