Complete Guide to Flashing and Using USB720 Verizon USB Modem!
DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for any damaged devices! Hack at your own risk! This worked fine for me, multiple times, but you might not be so lucky.

How to flash a USB720 USB Modem from Verizon Wireless to Cricket. EVDO works on mine but that may be a fluke. If not, editing some files may allow EVDO.

First get the drivers:
Go to [Only registered and activated users can see links]
Go to the Support drop down menu in the RED bar and pick Phones & Devices.
Select phone/device brand:Verizon Wireless
Find "Verizon Wireless USB720 Modem
At the bottom of the USB720 page you will see Downloads: VZAccess Manager Software.
Get It!
Reason: Don't have any software for this device.
Enter any valid Verizon Wireless Number.
DOWNLOAD!
Run program and click Next until it is Finished
Click Finish.
Wait and another setup window will pop up.
Go to Next, then Detect WWAN devices only, Next, Next.

NOW YOU PLUG in the USB720 and it will set it up with the right drivers and you will be able to see it as a phone in QPST.
Close VZAcess Manager. You could use it but I don't recommend it (Go to Computer Setup Towards Bottom)

Once you can see it in QPST:
Go to Service Programming.
Read the Phone
Go to theROAM Tab.
Upload a good prl (preferably with EVDO)
Go to the M.IP Tab.
Change Mobile IP Behavior to Simple IP Only.
Go to the PPP Config Tab
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Write to Phone.
DONE!

Computer Setup:
Now you have to set up the USB720 to use with your computer, here is how...

Go to Control Panel
Go to Network Connections
Go to New Connection Wizard
Click Next
Chose "Connect to the Internet" and click Next
Chose "Set up my connection manually" and click Next
Chose "Connect using a dial up modem" and click Next
Select the Novatel.... USB modem and click Next
Choose an ISP Name (Will be on your Desktop when we are done, I always use CricketNET) and click Next
Phone Number is #777, click Next
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Make your own choices as far as the 3 options go, I leave them checked.
Click Next.
Check "Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop".
Click Finish

Now you just double click on the shortcut that you made and click dial and you will connect to the internet.

Don't forget to change the proxy to Cricket's settings in your browser.
For Firefox:
Go to Tools>Options in the top menu
Go to the Advanced Section, then the Network Tab
Go to Settings Near the top.
Choose Manual proxy configuration
HTTP Proxy is wap.mycricket.com
Port is 8080
Check "Use this proxy for all protocols".
Click OK
Click OK
Surf the Internet!

For Internet Explorer:
Go to Tools>Internet Options in the top menu
Go to the Connections TAB
Click Settings... under Add and Remove
Check "Use a proxy server for this connection..."
Address: wap.mycricket.com
Port: 8080
Fill Out Dial Up settings with usual Uername and Password, Leave domain blank.
Surf the Internet!

Enjoy decent speed as you will have to activate this as a phone and won't get full Broadband speeds. Hopefully the speed goes back up when they are done with EVDO and all the other stuff they are working on.

it'll work with pretty much any evdo carrier as long as the data profiles and ppp tab is correct.

its a shame this info is being posted publicly though.. :(
