Waze partnered with Spotify last year, but announced an expanded media player within the Waze mobile app that works with seven new content providers. The additional services include Pandora, Deezer, iHeartRadio, NPR One, Scribd, Stitcher, and TuneIn for a wide selection of music, news, and podcasts. Waze says support for these new services is rolling out over time. Beta testers can take them for a test drive right away, but Waze won't finish integrating all eight services into both the Android and iOS Waze apps until the end of the year. Waze says users will need to update their favorite content app and sync it with Waze just once in order to get them working together. The feature supports multiple music apps, allowing people to switch from music to podcasts whenever they wish. Google, which owns Waze, recently added a similar feature to Google Maps.
